A visit to Cikgu Sushama's house

Apologies for writing this in English and BM, so that Cikgu Sushama will be encouraged to reply, and write from her perspectives too.

Originally, the trip was planned together with Arpi, Naim, Anson and me. Some others were not able to make it right from the very beginning. Mustafa ada kerja luar KL. Yang Arif pulak ada urusan nak hantar sekolah anak ke asrama esok, so he needs the time to sort things out.

Arpi had to cancel his appearance last night due to family member's death in Ampang. I was hoping mad that Naim will still make it, even though he cautioned me that he is coming from Sepang, and might at best, be late. Omputih kata, better late than never, kan?

At last, it was me and Anson and her son yang dapat hadir.

We arrived at Cikgu's house around 530PM. It was not that difficult to find her house. I printed a map of the area, just as a precaution. With a slight guidance, we hit the front gate very easily.

Sebelum sampai ke rumah, kami beli sedikit buah tangan. Kebetulan sekarang dah dekat Chinese New Year, senang la nak cari hamper :).

Bila dia nampak saja kami sampai, Cikgu Sushama terus keluar dari rumah. Bila dia nampak Anson, haa..apa lagi, macam filem hindustan la. Cikgu peluk Anson bagai nak rak!

Since there were only two of us, three with Cikgu Sushama, the discussion and the "sembang2" were quite limited. There were no noisy dudes like Fuat or Naim. Tapi as you know, Anson sorang pun dah boleh tahan.

Cikgu was ready with an old album containing some pictures of our friends and also ex teachers. Gambar Hasan Golek was among the more familiar ones, sebab dia Ketua Kelas 5 Sains 2, in which Cikgu Sushama was the form teacher. We reminisce about some people, and she was asking me about this and that boy/girl. And then, there was this boy, which she asked: "where is this naughty boy who looks like a mamak before?" Hahaha. When I told him that the boy is now a millionaire and got married to his KIK sweetheart from 5 Sastera 1, she was very very pleasantly surprised. That is Syed Abu Hussin. For a few times, Cikgu Sushama kept telling me to send her regards to that boy.

And Cikgu kept comparing me now with how I looked 30 years ago, ie, not much change, except for the declining hairs :).

And there was this picture of Kamilah Kasim and few other students supposedly after a Piala Perdana Menteri trip to Jenan, Kedah.

Anson has taken a few pictures home, including those in which Hasan is also pictured, to be scanned later and possibly posted here.

From Cikgu Sushama, I got Puan Wan Hasmah dan Nik Mahizan's number. Puan Wan Hasmah is retired now, and she is a Datin. A very humble and down to earth Datin, according to Cikgu Sushama. Both Datin Wan Hasmah and Nik Mahizan have consented to having their phone numbers given to me for future communication.

We left at around 630PM, and had to rush for our Asar in Shah Alam, with a promise that we will come again with a bigger crowd. Cikgu kept telling us that next time we come, she will take us to a nearby Restoran Nasi Kandar or Nasi Daun Pisang for a treat. How nice of you Cikgu!

And here are some pictures that we managed to take with Cikgu Sushama today.

Pelukan erat Guru dan bekas murid. Cikgu tak dimakan usia. Nampak macam masa tahun 1977 dulu jugak
Bercerita panjang tentang kisah-kisah lama
One final shot before we left
